On June 10th, I attended the Chalk Bluff Road open house at the Archer Complex. The open house was held to educate the public on the Chalk Bluffs Rd reconstruction project and answer any questions.
Present were representatives from the design company, County Planning, and Public Works.
The road is being upgraded to support the construction traffic and increased travel load for the proposed Cowboy Solar 1 and 2 projects, which will be developed on 2,600 acres of leased private land and 1,680 acres of leased private land, respectively. TGEÂ Wyoming, the company building the Cowboy Solar project, will bear the majority of the more than $12 million cost for the road.
The attending community members mainly consisted of landowners along Chalk Bluffs Road, who seemed very supportive of the project, as it will significantly improve road conditions along the section to be upgraded. The only negative comments I heard were from a realtor who has listings in the area and was concerned about traffic delays during construction.
The open house was another great example of county government working to ensure transparency and educate the community on issues affecting them.
