On February 17th, 2025, the Cheyenne Children's Museum opened its doors to the enthusiastic and curious children of our community. For the past six months, the staff has conducted a "soft opening" to thoroughly test the building and all the kid-friendly exhibits, ensuring everything was just right before the grand ribbon-cutting celebration on August 28th.
Since its opening, the museum has welcomed over 6,000 children, hosted more than 60 birthday parties, and signed up well over 100 families, grandparents, and others for yearly memberships.
Without a doubt, the Children's Museum has been warmly embraced by the community.
My wife Sue and I took our youngest granddaughter, Sawyer, to the grand opening event. It was a packed house! We could barely keep up with our wide-eyed three-year-old as she ran from one end of the building to the other, grinning from ear to ear and squealing with excitement.
Speaking from personal experience, if you take your child to the museum, you're in for a treat. I highly recommend it, but be prepared to carry them out when it's time to leave. With so many fun and engaging things to see and do, they won't want the visit to end!
According to the museum's website, it's designed to cater to a wide range of children, from infants to nine-year-olds. It offers interactive, hands-on exhibits that encourage learning through play and exploration, making it a perfect destination for families with young children.
We're already looking forward to our next visit, and we're sure it won't be long before we're back, exploring and learning with Sawyer. We’ll definitely be taking advantage of the grandparents' membership package.
