The 6th Penny Specific Purpose Tax will be on the August 2026 Primary Election ballot, and Laramie County has created a public information page to help residents learn more about the proposed projects.
The 6th Penny is used for specific voter-approved capital projects such as roads, public safety, emergency response, utilities, community facilities, parks, and other long-term infrastructure needs. If approved, the money collected must be used only for the projects listed in the ballot propositions, and the tax ends once the approved amount is collected.
