As another Cheyenne Frontier Days is added to our cherished memories, I am proud to have been a part of the Cheyenne Kiwanis Club, which successfully fed and entertained both Laramie County residents and visitors from around the world during the three pancake breakfast events. It's moments like these that make our community so special.

On Monday's breakfast, the Kiwanians, with the invaluable help from the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, fed 4,493 people. On Tuesday, they fed 6,003, and on the final breakfast, 7,093 people were fed. This year's total count was 17,539. Although this was slightly lower than last year's total, it mirrored the overall slight decline in Cheyenne Frontier Days events. It's important to remember that this event's success is a testament to our community's spirit and unity.

While at the pancake breakfast, visitors and locals alike were entertained by the Bob Matthews band, as well as yours truly dancing with the crowd and belting out a big Cheyenne Frontier Days Yee Haw.

In my capacity as Laramie County Commissioner, I was allowed to assist in making and serving pancakes to the hungry crowd. I tossed them out to the catchers, who, while holding their receiving trays, fielded the airborne flapjacks with the skill of a major league outfielder. One of the catchers who assisted me even danced and twirled around as she caught the pancakes. Now that's talent you can only see during frontier days.  

I can't wait till next year! The energy and excitement of the crowd, the delicious smell of pancakes in the air, and the joy of seeing everyone come together-these are the moments that make Cheyenne Frontier Days so special for me.
