Third generation Laramie County resident and 27-year veteran of the Sheriff's Office, Don Hollingshead, announces run for Laramie County Commissioner.
Pro Laramie County - Don has been deeply involved in serving the community for almost three decades, dedicating his time and expertise to various volunteer positions. Currently, he serves as an Elder in his church and has been an active member of the Kiwanis for seven years, including serving on their board. Additionally, he has commendably contributed to the Safe Harbor Children's Advocacy Center for nine years, holding the position of Board Chair. His commitment to community service is also evident through his long-standing volunteer work with Special Olympics, spanning over 25 years, among other significant contributions. He supports and encourages economic growth and supports small businesses and entrepreneurship.
Pro Fiscal Responsibility - Don managed the $20+million budget for the Laramie County Sheriff's Office during his tenure as Jail Captain. He identified areas of budget surplus/shortfall and made corrective recommendations.
Pro Communication - Don is committed to advancing Laramie County’s economic opportunities through open communication and proactive engagement. He recognizes the importance of listening to and addressing community input and concerns, leveraging his training from the FBI National Academy in public relations. By doing so, he ensures the public remains well-informed about issues that impact their future, fostering a transparent and inclusive approach to economic development.
During his tenure at the Sheriff’s Office, Don acquired an in-depth understanding of the county's structure and multifaceted needs. These needs extend beyond law enforcement and encompass the broader dynamics of Laramie County. If elected as the next Laramie County Commissioner, Don is poised to leverage his decades of knowledge and experience to proactively address the diverse needs of all Laramie County residents, ensuring comprehensive and effective representation.
