Early voting for the 2026 Primary Election begins July 21, and Election Day is Tuesday, August 18.
Laramie County voters will have several decisions to make, including the Sixth Penny Specific Purpose Tax propositions. Each proposition will appear separately on the ballot, so voters can consider each project on its own.
Wyoming has a closed primary election, meaning Democratic and Republican voters receive ballots for their respective parties. Unaffiliated and minor-party voters may receive a more limited ballot, but the countywide Sixth Penny propositions will appear on every Laramie County ballot.
The Sixth Penny can only be used for voter-approved projects, and it ends after enough revenue has been collected to fund those projects.
I encourage everyone to take a few minutes before voting to review the ballot and learn what each proposition would fund. Whether you support all of them, some of them, or none of them, please cast an informed vote.

Early and absentee voting runs from July 21 through August 17. On Election Day, vote centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Laramie County voters may vote at any county vote center.

Please take the time to study the ballot, ask questions, and make your voice heard.
