This post continues the information from my recent meetings with the various elected officials and county department heads.
The first floor of the Laramie County Governmental Complex on 20th Street houses one of the most widely visited departments in the county. The County Clerk's Office, led by Laramie County Clerk Debra Lee, oversees elections, real estate recordings, marriage licenses, vehicle titles, and registrations and is responsible for storing and maintaining all county records.
It also manages the county finance department, responsible for preparing the county budget, financial reporting and compliance, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, and county payroll.
One of the key concerns Debra shared with me was the urgent need for more room to expand to meet the needs of our rapidly growing community. With the recent county purchase of the financial building across the street at 2020 Carey, the hope is that as the building is renovated, portions of the county government can occupy this additional office space.
