Tour of Laramie County Coroner's Office

This post continues the information gleaned from my recent meetings with the various elected officials and county department heads.

One of the most emotional and painful times in a person's life occurs when we lose a loved one, and Laramie County Corner Becki Reid knows this firsthand. She and her staff complete a task that few have the strength or compassion to handle daily.

I have worked with the coroner's office over the years, conducting death notifications, witnessing autopsies, and responding to tragic events where lives are lost. Knowing what they do firsthand and how compassionately they handle the needs of those left behind leaves me with a deep sense of respect for all that they do.

The Coroner's Office also works closely and effectively with local law enforcement during death investigations, as well as partnering with community organizations to shed light on suicides within our community and raising funds to support this cause each year during their annual dodgeball tournament.

Although losing a loved one is tragic, Laramie County is fortunate to have Becki and her staff available when the unthinkable happens.
