I attended Vantage Data Centers’ open house held on Friday, June 26, 2026. This was an opportunity for the public to gather information about Vantage’s proposed data center project.
One thing I thought was particularly well done was the event’s organization. Rather than simply giving a presentation, they set up information stations covering different aspects of the proposed project, making it easier to understand the proposal. Topics included the proposed site location, project timeline, water use and the closed-loop cooling system, environmental sustainability, permitting, economic and community impacts, and the overall campus design.
What I appreciated most was that each station had a subject-matter expert available to answer questions specific to that topic. That allowed attendees to have direct conversations with knowledgeable people, making the discussions more focused and useful.
Whether you support the project, oppose it, or are still undecided, opportunities like this help the public ask detailed questions and better understand what is being proposed.
As I’ve said before, I’m not taking a position for or against this project—or any project—before it goes through the public review process. My responsibility as your County Commissioner is to help ensure the process is fair and transparent, so residents have the information they need to make informed decisions.
Vantage indicated that additional informational meetings will be held as the project moves forward. Keep an eye on their announcements and on my Facebook page. If I learn of future meetings, I’ll be happy to share those opportunities as well.
If you have questions or would like additional information, Vantage has asked that the public contact their Community Engagement Office by email at ProjectLatigo@vantage-dc.com or visit their project website for updates as the project moves through the review process.
I appreciate everyone who took the time to attend, ask questions, and participate in the discussion. I also thank Vantage Data Centers for hosting an open house that encouraged public engagement and gave residents an opportunity to learn more about the proposed project.
