What Pro Communication Means to Me

This post is a continuation of what each tenant means to me.

Pro Communication

During my nearly three decades in law enforcement, I relied heavily on my ability to communicate to ensure positive outcomes in every situation. Whether testifying in court, interacting with the general public, confronting someone who violated the law somehow, or interacting with an inmate in jail.

Each instance or circumstance hinged on how well I could present the issues. As Commissioner, I will use all I have learned, including my Media and Public Relations training at the FBI National Academy, to ensure transparency and gather public input.

As I consider issues, I will ask myself several questions. Who will the decision affect? Will the issue being considered affect any other part of Laramie County Government, community members, or businesses? Have they been notified and given a reasonable opportunity to voice any concerns or offer alternate solutions? Public input and transparency are significant to me. As time allows, I will conduct public outreach through local media outlets and social media to get community input before significant issues are considered.
