I had such an amazing time reading to first grade kids from several of our local schools. 

One of the books that I selected to read, was one that I read to my granddaughter when she was a small child. Although she is now in high school, the book still sits on her bookshelf and is one of her most treasured possessions.

I had the honor of sharing my reading time with Carey Hartman.  Carey retired from the library after serving the community for 42 years.  She was a hard act to follow, as she puts so much energy and personality into her reading.  One of the kids favorite books today did not have any pictures, but enchanted the kids to the point they wanted Carey to read it to them again.  What fun!
