128th Cheyenne Frontier Days

The 128th Cheyenne Frontier Days™  is underway, and my family and I have been enjoying every minute of it. Saturday morning's parade was a crowd-pleaser, featuring various parade floats, marching bands, horses, wagons, and military members waving and greeting the crowds lining the streets. Then, our granddaughters represented the East High School Dance and Cheer team. They made us proud!

On Monday, I was at the Depot Plaza with Kiwanis Club of Cheyenne  and other volunteers, helping to feed and entertain the sea of residents and guests who showed up for the annual Kiwanis Pancake breakfast. This week, on Wednesday and Friday, I invite you to grab a plate of flapjacks and listen to a live band while enjoying your complimentary breakfast.

Words fail to capture the sheer wonder, awe, and patriotism that filled the air during the Military Monday Rodeo at Cheyenne Frontier Days. The day was a crescendo of excitement, from the dramatic entrance of the Leap Frog skydiving team leaping from a C-130 aircraft flying over the park to the reverent stretching out of one of the world's most enormous flags by patriotic volunteers. Monday's rodeo will forever be etched in my memory, leading to the heart-pounding main event, the third day of the world's largest outdoor rodeo.
