Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce Luncheon-Wyoming Governor Candidate Discussion

Sue and I attended today’s Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce luncheon, sponsored by the Wyoming Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.

The Alzheimer’s Association shared information about Alzheimer’s awareness and featured its Walk to End Alzheimer’s fundraiser in October. Alzheimer’s disease is near and dear to both my wife's and my hearts. We have both lost loved ones to this terrible disease. Two years ago, my wife lost her dad, and I lost my grandma several years ago. It was a good reminder that community involvement and support can make a real difference for families facing this disease. In addition to donating, community members can participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, volunteer to help organize the event, or join support teams to make an impact. The luncheon also featured a moderated discussion with the three Republican candidates for Wyoming Governor. While the candidates shared many common goals for Wyoming, it was helpful to hear where they differed on subjects such as data center development, property taxes, government spending, workforce development, and education.

Our goal in attending was simple: to listen, learn, and gather information so we can be informed voters. I appreciate opportunities like this that allow citizens to hear directly from candidates and engage in the issues that will help shape Wyoming’s future.
