PRCA Potential Move to Wyoming

On January 10, I had the opportunity to attend the Legislative Reception at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Headquarters regarding the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association’s potential move to Wyoming.
There’s real excitement around what this “Project Blue Moon” opportunity could mean for Cheyenne and all of Laramie County. Bringing PRCA — and potentially the Rodeo Hall of Fame — to our community would build on the strong foundation we already have with Cheyenne Frontier Days and further strengthen Wyoming’s deep roots in rodeo.
It was great to hear from PRCA leadership, Cheyenne LEADS, members of the Task Force, and Wyoming’s own Dusty Tuckness of Meeteetse. Dusty is a ten-time PRCA Bullfighter of the Year and a multiple-time National Finals Rodeo bullfighter, widely recognized as one of the top professionals in the sport.
This project represents a significant investment, with LEADS proposing $45 million in local funding and a $15 million request before the Legislature during the budget session.
As discussions continue locally and at the Capitol, I appreciate the collaboration and community commitment surrounding this effort. Opportunities like this don’t come around often, and I’m proud to be part of the conversation about what’s best for our county and our state.
