The County Attorney’s Office, headed by Mark Voss, plays a crucial role in defending the county. They give legal guidance to all Laramie County elected officials and department heads, handle the prosecution of county ordinance violations, review contracts, handle emergency detention issues regarding persons who have experienced a mental health crisis, and consult with department heads when dealing with sensitive personnel issues.
Mark also oversees the County’s Risk Management Department.
This is not an all-encompassing list of everything they do, but it puts a good dent in it. Mark sits at a desk near the railing if you attend the County Commissioner Meetings or view them online. During the meetings, he is sometimes called upon to give his legal opinion on the issues discussed and how they may impact the county.
Mark and his team have a wealth of knowledge, and I look forward to working with them again.
