This post continues the information gleaned from my recent meetings with the various elected officials and county department heads.
The Laramie County Information Technology Department (IT) does much more than handle computer issues. They are the technology backbone for both the city and the county, servicing, just to name a few, the Cheyenne Police Department, Sheriff’s Office, City/County Health Dept., Emergency Management, County Fair, Treasurer Office, County Clerk to include handling all election-related equipment, Shooting Sports and technology needs for all county-owned buildings.
In today’s ever-changing cyber security world, our IT Department also has to stay on the cutting edge to ensure the county’s technology infrastructure, as well as the personal data of our community members, is safeguarded.
The work of the IT department is crucial for the safety and well-being of our community, as it ensures the smooth operation of essential services and the protection of sensitive data.
IT Director Brad Alexander was a wealth of knowledge during our meeting, sharing with me the current projects being handled by his staff, the projected IT budgets for each of the county offices, and projected future needs.
