We attended the Lawrence Anderson Memorial Pie Social in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, on June 30. This is Don's two-minute speech to a packed room.
Lawrence Anderson started the tradition of a pie social in 1984. He believed citizens needed an opportunity to meet the candidates and speak with them one-on-one before deciding who to vote for in the upcoming primary. Being an unwavering Republican, Mr. Anderson limited the speakers to Republicans only. This was not just a fun evening but a significant one, with speeches by the Republican candidates, questions from the community, and lots of homemade pie, all contributing to the strength and unity of our community.
Thank you to Mike and Linda Heath for organizing a great event and carrying on the tradition.
Don listened to several residents talk about their concerns in the rural area.
