The Meet the Candidates event at Lions Park last Saturday, May 25, was a success and an excellent opportunity for each candidate in attendance to introduce themselves and interact with the voting public. I had several conversations with people in attendance. Some topics included a discussion with a young voter regarding my stance on mask mandates, explaining that I did not support them in the public venue, a conversation about my experience in running the jail, and my background as a Republican. It was refreshing to see everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to learn the background and stances of those vying for the various elected positions. I tip my hat to the organizers and thank them for the opportunity to speak on my campaign.
