Metropolitan Planning Organization Meeting June 4, 2025

On June 4th, I attended the quarterly Metropolitan Planning Organization meeting, one of the six boards on which I currently sit. This board is responsible for developing transportation policies and coordinating the various federal, state, and local agencies involved in long-range transportation planning and project development.

Along with several city projects, an update was discussed on the long-awaited road connection between Whitney Road and North College Drive, located on Storey Boulevard.  The project had been planned for completion before the US 30 reconstruction. It was delayed due to issues with purchasing easements from landowners.  The easements have all been finalized, and work is commencing. A completion date has not yet been announced.
