Yesterday, April 7, 2026, was a wonderful day as we joyfully celebrated the Month of the Military Child here in Laramie County.
Earlier, the Commissioners approved a resolution proclaiming April 2026 as the Month of the Military Child, following a reading of the proclamation by a member of our 4-H Extension Office.
Later, at LCCC’s Pathfinder Building, I joined a well-attended event with 4-H youth and their families. Kids explored a Life Flight helicopter, fire trucks, and other first responder vehicles, and enjoyed seeing animals up close, including goats, a cow, and rabbits.
Colonel McGee with the Army Guard shared powerful remarks about the sacrifices military families make—especially the resilience of military children who endure long separations from their parents. He also highlighted the important role 4-H plays in supporting these families.
Overall, 4-H has deep roots in Laramie County and remains a strong part of our agricultural community. Seeing so many families come together made the event especially meaningful.
