Over the past few months, I have been attending meetings with the various county elected officials and department heads, which were set up by the county HR Director. These meetings will continue through December so that on day one, I can hit the ground running to represent the communities of Laramie County effectively.
My first meeting was with the Shooting Sports Director Keith Tast on October 8th. Although I did not have enough time scheduled to tour the entire facility, I found Keith to be a wealth of knowledge. I learned that the staff and numerous volunteers have extensive backgrounds in firearms and firearms training. They have a multi-lane indoor shooting range and an extended outdoor gun range. The only downside to the meeting was the lack of coffee. Keith said that he had suggested to the commissioners installing a coffee bar for patrons of the facility, but alas, it has not been in the cards up to this point. LOL
Over the next few weeks, I will post information on some of the other meetings I have attended to prepare for taking office on January 6th.
